Result description

The developed castable refractory recipe formulas contain 80% slag (100% aggregates are slag based) with comparable properties to commercial reference composition..Thermal insulation properties were comparable to commercial insulating castables which typically have lower density and strength, thus developed castables are suitable for insulation purposes having simultaneously sufficient strength for structural components. Also partial commercial cement replacement (10%) with EAF slag was successful with no significant difference in recorded strengths.
