This systematic review analysed 51 scientific studies evaluating the socio-economic performance of climate change adaptation strategies in coastal areas. It focused on four types of strategies—hard, soft, Ecosystem-based (EbA), and hybrid—assessing the methods used, including Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), Multi- Criteria Analysis (MCA), and others. The review also explored the level of stakeholder involvement, types of metrics used, and the climate hazards addressed. Findings highlight a need for more participatory and comprehensive assessments and underline the relevance of including socio-economic performance in climate adaptation planning.
