We previously developed a nano-sized, carrier-free vaccine platform named polycondensate epitope vaccine (PEV), which has shown greatly enhanced vaccine efficacy in eliciting both humoral and cellular immune responses (ACS Cent. Sci. 2020, in press, https://doi.org/10.1021/acscentsci.9b01174). Utilizing PEV to deliver a synthetic immunogen presenting the site II epitope of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) protein, we shown that PEV vaccine elicited 2.8-fold higher antibody titer in immunized mice compared to the vaccine adjuvanted by Alum, a potent adjuvant used in the clinic. In another study, we immunized the mice with a PEV delivering a neoantigen from a cancer cell line together with Pam adjuvant. More than 10-fold higher frequency of antigen specific cytotoxic CD8+ T cell response was elicited compared to the most potent clinically used adjuvant.

1. We are looking for financial support (public funding, private donation, etc.) to develop an anti-COVID-19 nanovaccine of high safety profile in a timely fashion.
2. In addition, we are looking for collaborations (academic or industrial) to test the neutralization of virus, safety profile, and the clinical evaluation of the subunit vaccine.
