The SIP is a digital platform with 3 core functions: a data repository with enriched metadata and access controls, a data collection hub standardising sensor inputs for interoperability, & a visualisation space offering tools like GeoStories, dashboards, and maps. Built on a modern cloud server using open-source, industry-standard software, the SIP is freely adaptable. The Sensor Data Uploader App further simplifies data submission for non-technical users. Altogether, the SIP offers a secure, open-source infrastructure for environmental data management & visualisation. Academics & researchers can use it for managing and visualising climate or urban sustainability data. Public authorities, particularly in planning or climate action roles, can use it for data-driven policymaking. GeoStories, maps, & dashboards are accessible to the public, citizen scientists & environmental NGOs can contribute data & monitor environmental trends, and urban planners can utilise spatial data for development strategies. The open-source nature allows technical users to replicate the platform, & authorised third-party access to the API is available.

R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
Designed for adaptation and scalability, the SIP is ideal for partners seeking a low-cost, flexible platform for environmental monitoring, smart city planning, or climate adaptation. A business plan is in development to support commercial uptake, with core functions remaining operational post-project.
A business plan is in development to support commercial uptake, and the SIP has the potential to be scalable into other projects and ititaitives.
The SIP offers a powerful, open-source, and customisable solution for integrated climate resilience data management, meaning it can be adapted to various contexts.
The use of the SIP has shown to be a valuable resource for climate resilience data management across the SCORE Coastal City Living Labs, and can be adapted to different contexts to provide value to stakeholders, the environment and society.
