The SSbD framework includes assessment workflows for nanomaterial hazards, safer synthesis route selection criteria, characterisation protocols, and decision trees for material substitution and process design. Case studies demonstrate reduction in toxic precursors, lower emissions and material substitution paths for common PE nanomaterials. The framework aligns with EU SSbD guidance and provides input for regulators developing safer manufacturing standards. Exploitation: training, consultancy and contribution to standardisation committees.
