Result description

A validated computational design tool for nanochannel energy harvesters that predicts how channel geometry, electric double-layer overlap, wall zeta potential, and electrolyte composition affect voltage generation under thermal gradients. The framework has already been used to guide experiments, including those involving higher electrolyte concentrations, smaller alumina nanochannels, and cellulose nanochannels, thereby reducing trial-and-error.

We target research groups, device developers, and funding bodies interested in nanochannel energy-conversion design. We are specifically looking for follow-on public funding, validation partners, experimental collaborators, and IP/legal support to further develop, validate, and package the modelling framework as a design-support and consultancy capability.

Current stage description

This early-stage R&D result includes a validated multiphysics modelling framework that guides nanochannel design. However, further validation, benchmarking, packaging, and feasibility work are still needed before broader use. We seek follow-on public/translational funding, IP/legal support, and technical partners to validate and apply the framework in device-design case studies.
