Result description
The Asset Administration Shell (AAS) is a key concept in Industrie 4.0, serving as a digital counterpart of physical assets like machines, plants, or components within information and communication technology systems. This digital twin facilitates seamless communication and interaction between various objects and systems in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). AAS is designed with a modular structure, comprising multiple submodels, each representing distinct aspects of an asset. These submodels are independent in terms of semantics, and their selection depends on specific use cases and needs.
The AAS toolkit (https://aimen-shell-toolkit.com/ ) is a user-friendly web application for modeling, and managing AAS, allowing users to navigate and understand the structure and relationships of the digital twin easily. It supports the implementation of AAS especially during the operation phase at edge level. It is based on well-known technologies and frameworks with a high level of maturity in the market (i.e., Angular, Keycloak, FastAPI).
