Current subsidies to help citizen save energy and CO2 emission are all ex-ante estimated, and are thus providing little real expost energy/CO2 savings at a very large public expense. With this FORTESIE results and this neobanking Energy savings and CO2 subsidies could be paid based on real expost energy consumption and CO2 emissions. THis will lead to substantial public savings both at Member States and EU commission levels.
The CO2 and energy saving rewards could be paid in a “digital-euro”, the potentially new EU CBDC.
