Result description
With properties in between that of a LiB and a supercapacitor, the LiC technology can provide electrical energy storage devices for applications which require higher power than conventional LiBs but higher energy density than supercapacitors, e.g. high-power charging, uninterrupted power supply, peaks shaving of the power grid, and introduction of a larger share of renewal energy in the grid. The LiCs will therefore contribute significantly to the green shift and electrification of the society.
LiCs is an electrochemical energy storage device which have properties in between those of a supercapacitor and a lithium-ion battery (LiB) with higher power, shorter charge/discharge rate, higher cyclability, and longer lifetime than a LiB, while at the same time having higher energy density than a supercapacitor. The LiC cell is developed by Beyonder at Beyonder’s lab facilities. The LiC cells are more sustainable than conventional LiBs as the cathode is produced from sawdust and does not contain nickel and cobalt.. Voltage range: 2.0-4.0. Size: 352.5 X 100.2 X 0.85 mm X, with and average weight of 0.45 kg.
