Result description
FactoRIS consortium is composed of STUBA from Slovakia, TU Wien from Austria, Czech Technical University in Prague from Czechia, ART-ER from Italy, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia from Italy, FEUP from Portugal and Industry Innovation Cluster from Slovakia.
Through the FactoRIS project, EIT RIS-based manufacturing SMEs have received support in the area of retraining and upskilling personnel using an educational framework developed by the learning factories to facilitate easier uptake of advanced technologies. The hands-on courses offer a modern training tool that combines learning factory training, real demonstrators and integrated digital learning content through 9 learning paths and 48 learning nuggets developed in 2021 and 2022. So far, in 2021 and 2022, learners consumed 1,020 nuggets of the developed learning content.
Learning factories at STUBA, CTU, FEUP, UNIMORE and TUW were given a valuable opportunity to cooperate with each other and jointly develop the digital learning content. This created a unique platform for best practice exchange and networking between the partners themselves and their industry stakeholders.

R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
The pilot learning factories can be adapted to support the SMEs board in deciding for a well-suited technology related to their strategy, based on its performance and how it assists humans. Even with no major initial investments, this will enable the manufacturing SMEs to transform their company towards a next-generation factory with more competitive, smarter and sustainable production.
