The Meta-Kernel layer integrates the needed software tools for deploying and executing applications across the continuum, based on the most appropriate deployment patterns. It includes modules for both, managing workloads and monitoring the system health, what allows taking informed decisions about redeployment to maintaint, and ensure, the highest QoS/QoE levels. It can be considered as the core of the system, thus, it is properly connected with other Layers to exchange data. Basic features are already available in the Beta version of the system.

The ICOS technology is based on open source technologies and custom developments. It is being already tested in 3 use cases. The business model includes tools and specific features (e.g., training, consultancy) for covering those.
