R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
The Data Management Layer provides two software packages, dataClay and Zenoh, that can be used in distributed environments and provide features that enable continuum-native applications. Within the ICOS infrastructure there is an integration between Data Management and Intelligence Layers, integration which results in task offloading mechanisms and allows a decentralized approach to data and computation.
The ICOS technology is based on open source technologies and custom developments. It is being already tested in 3 use cases. The business model includes tools and specific features (e.g., training, consultancy) for covering those.
