Result description
Results from the iBROW project have substantially contributed to and enabled further research on terahertz (THz)-communication towards next generation of wireless communication beyond 5G (occasionally dubbed “6G”). Nokia, the major industrial partner on iBROW, is for instance looking at further research towards highly energy efficient THz communication systems operating at data rates up to 100 Gbit/s. An internal R&D activity at Nokia Bell-Labs is taking up from iBROW results and directed towards RTD based transceivers operating at ultra-high carrier frequencies. This activity is performed in close partnership with the iBROW partner, the University of Glasgow. Similar to this, several research partnerships established through iBROW are active. Moreover, iBROW results and lessons have been communicated in several invited conference and workshop presentations, e.g. at “2nd Towards TeraHertz Communication Workshop”, Brussels or at Graphene Week, Helsinki 2019.
