The customisable thin-film solar modules are a new energy harvesting material based on a set of three proprietary technologies combined in one unique approach: (1) a inorganic thin-film solar cell, (2) a digitally controllable serial interconnection that allows seamless integration of customized PV foils into a multitude of applications, and (3) a flexible hybrid glass/metal substrate that offers robustness under the harsh conditions of semiconductor formation, enables the digitally printed interconnection and facilitates a simplified module packaging.

R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
The printed interconnection and the hybrid glass-metal substrate are on TRL6 and are currently produced and demonstrated in near-industrial roll-to-roll processes. Both technologies are compatible with a wide range of thin-film solar cell technologies (CIGS, Kesterites) and upcoming tandem concepts
Production can be fully digitalised and automated. Roll-out is scalable.
Production can be fully digitalised and automated. Roll-out is scalable.
Even regional/ small scale production (>10 MWp annual production capacity) is viable.Material and energy consumption is below 50% of state-of-the-art technologies. No toxic materials are used.
