Result description
This output combines advanced data and models for flood risk and coastal erosion to support climate adaptation in specific cities. This flood risk models delivers high-resolution flood hazard maps and short-term modelling for Massa, Oarsoaldea, Vilanova, and Samsun, using integrated tools like WW3, LISFLOOD, and SHYFEM to assess local flood risks under climate change, while the coastal erosion outputs focuses on long-term shoreline evolution using the COSMOS-COAST model, with results for Benidorm, Massa, and Dublin. Both tools aid municipalities in identifying high-risk areas, guiding infrastructure investment, zoning, and adaptation strategies to build resilience against extreme weather, sea-level rise, and erosion.

R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
Local stakeholders in several CCLLs contributed key data through meetings and co-creation efforts, refining models for local relevance. Knowledge Transfer sessions in Massa, Vilanova, Sligo, Oarsoaldea, and Benidorm engaged policymakers and staff, encouraging uptake. The tools were tested in multiple cities, with models validated using site-specific data.
These results have already been replicated across several Coastal City Living Labs and could be done so again with sufficient funding.
