Result description
CH digitisation workflow delivers the digital representation layer of cultural heritage pilot sites through a standardised, multi-environment geometric documentation workflow covering terrestrial/coastal and underwater/lacustrine contexts. It provides interoperable 3D/2.5D/2D deliverables and a unified, repeatable process: acquisition protocols with decision gates for selecting sensors/modalities, a tool-agnostic processing pipeline, quality assurance procedures, harmonised products, and standard delivery formats with metadata. It creates “digital-twin-ready” site understanding that can be linked to the knowledge base platform, quantified risk outputs, and monitoring streams, and visualised/used within the TRIQUETRA DSS. By making risks and mitigation spatially explicit, it improves communication, reusability and operational uptake, enabling monitoring over time and post-event assessment.

We seek heritage sites and digitisation providers to pilot the workflow across environments (terrestrial/coastal and underwater/lacustrine) and validate acquisition protocols, QA and delivery formats. We also look for technical partners/infrastructures to benchmark sensor/modalities and ensure interoperability (formats/metadata), and integrators to connect digital twins with knowledge, risk and monitoring layers inside DSS workflows.

R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
Standardised, multi-environment CH digitisation workflow developed and applied to pilot sites, producing interoperable 3D/2.5D/2D deliverables with defined acquisition protocols, tool-agnostic processing, QA, and standard delivery formats/metadata. Outputs are designed to connect with TRIQUETRA knowledge, risk and monitoring layers and support DSS-based decision workflows.
Yes — standard protocols, decision gates, QA and interoperable deliverables allow replication across many sites and service providers, supporting consistent digitisation for portfolios of heritage assets.
CH digitisation workflow can be sustained through service-based and standardisation-driven uptake. Models include: (a) digitisation services delivered by survey/geomatics providers using the workflow, (b) licensing/training packages for institutions and contractors (protocols, QA, templates, metadata standards), (c) framework agreements with heritage authorities for periodic updates (baseline + repeat surveys), and (d) integration services to connect digital twins to DSS/asset-management platforms. Standardised deliverables reduce rework and enable long-term monitoring, creating recurring demand for updates, post-event assessments and portfolio-level digitisation programmes.
