The BIOTRAILS Learning Platform is a convenient digital environment where the different stakeholders involved in the 4 value chains mentioned above can find and assess information crucial for their value chain processes and activities, as well as connect and share knowledge with each other, exchange ideas, get mentorship, implement projects and collaborate directly. The platform is organised in smaller communities known as ‘LAAs’ or Learning and Action Alliances, which provide virtual spaces where members of the same LAA can work together on specific projects or challenges. The platform is regularly populated with customised material on discussion topics, relevant events, educational material for each value chain and transformative change, as well as internal and external tools enabling the members to follow more sustainable pathways in their practices.

The BIOTRAILS Learning Platform acts as an online community and social learning space aiming to help support the fruitful collaboration and learning on challenges and opportunities for transformative change and the climate-biodiversity-society nexus management. In particular, the platform helps LAAs members connect, discuss and share experiences with other actors, participate in various co-creation activities of the project and be the first to test the project’s tools, validate our methods and learn different transitional pathways and solutions for a more sustainable value chain.
The platform contains a big community interaction space, providing a live feed, news feed and events sections, while it is organised in the 6 ‘LAAs’, which provide virtual spaces where members of the same LAA can work together on specific themes or challenges. Through the BIOTRAILS Learning Platform, LAAs can transcend geographical obstacles, encourage continuous learning and collaboration in both a synchronous and asynchronous manner and enable collective action towards common goals.
