Result description
As current state-of-art, few researchers, including research from BATH, have published scientific works in the field. However, the TRL is 1, considered too early for scaling up at this stage, as stability in the long term is still to be proven.
The value offered by this potential KERs is to provide a less expensive alternative to platinum throughout the innovative ORR catalyst, which could facilitate the scaling up of the technology while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Addressing target audiences and expressing needs
- To raise awareness and possibly influence policy
- Collaboration
Raise awareness on the use of bioremediation tech my policymakers.
- EU and Member State Policy-makers
- Research and Technology Organisations
- Academia/ Universities
R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
Biochar from food waste will be functionalized for the development of effective ORR catalysts.
At this stage, the KERs is expected to have a limited scientific exploitative route, by means of disseminating findings in scientific publications. The possibility of patenting will be further explored.
