Result description
A new sampling approach, more specifically the Eurofins rapidust® system was evaluated against current sampling praxis and sampling according to Commission Regulation (EC) 401/2006. Sampling was tested and demonstrated as in-process control as well as during unloading of big-bags, trucks, and train wagons in different on-site trials. The goals of these trials were: 1. to implement dust sampling in the process chain in the food/feed industry 2. to develop a multi-mycotoxin LC-MS/MS (DON, ZEA, AFLA, together with their modified forms) method and a dipstick method 3. to write a SOP (guidance note – recommendations) for the industry on dust analysis and on-site testing 4. training and impact demonstration at farm level and in food/feed industry. The Eurofins rapidust® dust sampling procedure is patented (EP 2614352A2; CA 2810948; Biselli and Nkengfack, 2010a, b) and marketed by Eurofins, a subcontractor of this project.
