This innovation integrates control, navigation and planning strategies, both onboard the robot and the cloud, to enable smart navigation of mobile robots on the farm. It empowers mobile robots to navigate throughout the whole farm, not limited exclusively to the crop field. It benefits from the use of standards and digital descriptions of the work environment to represent, both semantically and metrically, the navigable space. This allows this innovation to be adapted to different mobile robots from different vendors, and integrates information such as maps and treatment planning developed by third parties. It also integrates different Artificial Intelligence methodologies to identify various types of crops in different stages of growth, especially in the early stages, and includes both wide and narrow crops, allowing precise navigation over the field without depending on accurate maps at the centimetre level, maintaining the safety of the crop, the robot and the humans.
Addressing target audiences and expressing needs
