Pathways to Innovation – Supporting Future Applicants in European Security Research – Germany

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports your activities to participate in the European research program "Horizon Europe" in Cluster 3 "Civil Security for Society." This includes, among other things, the following activities necessary for preparing and drafting an EU application:

  • Engaging with the intended funding instrument,
  • Early formation of a consortium,
  • Thematic network building,
  • Developing the EU application, or
  • Preparing the final submission of the EU application.

Primarily, individual projects with German coordination of the EU application are funded.

You will receive the funding as a grant for a period of up to 12 months.

You can receive up to EUR 120,000 per project.

The funding procedure is two-stage. In the 1st stage, please submit your project outline to the designated project management organization.

In the 2nd stage, you will be invited to submit a formal funding application based on your positively evaluated project outline. Please use the electronic application system easy-Online for preparing your project outline and application.

Expected Outcome

The expected outcome is to facilitate the participation of German entities in Horizon Europe's Cluster 3 by providing financial support for preparatory activities and application development. The grant aims to strengthen the preparation and submission of high-quality applications for EU funding in the field of civil security research.

Scope

The scope of the funding call includes support for activities related to preparing and drafting applications for the EU's Horizon Europe Cluster 3 program. This involves initial engagement with the funding instrument, consortium formation, thematic networking, and final application preparation.
