Optimal Integrated Onboard Renewable Energy Solutions, Considering Wind-Powered and Hull Performance Technologies (ZEWT Partnership)

This call focuses on developing methodologies for monitoring, recording, and verifying energy used from wind-assisted propulsion (WAP) devices directly into ship propulsion. The aim is to integrate wind energy into calculations of greenhouse gas (GHG) intensity of energy used on-board, supporting compliance with regulatory frameworks like FuelEU Maritime. Projects should develop a holistic framework for design optimization of WAP, assess environmental and economic benefits, address safety and operational aspects, and promote standardization efforts. Demonstrations of full-scale WAP solutions and management on-board are expected, along with methodologies applicable to various ship types and operations.
