Guidelines for the “Landesprogramm Wirtschaft 2021–2027” (LPW 2021)

The state of Schleswig-Holstein offers financial support through the "Landesprogramm Wirtschaft 2021–2027" (LPW 2021) to promote investments in innovation, digitalization, and decarbonization. This program, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Joint Task "Improvement of the Regional Economic Structure" (GRW), and state resources, aims to enhance the competitiveness of the regional economy. Eligible applicants include municipalities, public institutions, companies, and associations planning projects that align with the program's objectives.

Expected Outcome

The program aims to:

  • Strengthen the innovation capabilities of the region, leading to increased economic growth and job creation.

  • Enhance digital infrastructure and literacy, enabling broader access to digital services and technologies.

  • Improve the competitiveness of SMEs, resulting in a more resilient and diverse economic landscape.

  • Achieve significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption through supported projects.

  • Promote the use of renewable energy sources and the adoption of circular economy principles.

  • Protect and enhance natural environments, contributing to biodiversity and ecological balance.

  • Foster inclusive development that integrates social, economic, and environmental objectives, enhancing the quality of life in both urban and rural communities.

Scope

The LPW 2021–2027 focuses on several key areas:

  • Development and Expansion of Research and Innovation Capacities: Supporting projects that foster research and innovation to drive economic growth.

  • Utilization of Digitalization Benefits: Encouraging initiatives that leverage digital technologies for the benefit of citizens, businesses, research institutions, and authorities.

  • Sustainable Growth and Competitiveness of SMEs: Aiding small and medium-sized enterprises in enhancing their competitiveness and creating jobs through productive investments.

  • Promotion of Energy Efficiency and Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Funding projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions to support environmental sustainability.

  • Support for Renewable Energies and Transition to a Resource-Efficient Circular Economy: Facilitating the adoption of renewable energy sources and practices that promote resource efficiency.

  • Enhancement of Nature Protection and Green Infrastructure: Investing in projects that protect natural habitats and develop green infrastructure.

  • Promotion of Integrated and Inclusive Social, Economic, and Environmental Development: Encouraging holistic development projects that consider cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, and inclusive growth in both urban and rural areas.
