European Partnership: Forests and Forestry for a Sustainable Future

This funding call is part of Horizon Europe Cluster 6 and focuses on mobilizing research and innovation to accelerate the transition to a sustainable forest bioeconomy. The partnership aims to enhance forest sector value, biodiversity, and climate resilience, aligning with the European Green Deal, EU Forest Strategy for 2030, and other key initiatives. Key objectives include strengthening the European R&I system for forests, developing innovative forestry practices, understanding forest ecosystem resilience, and supporting the sustainable forest-based bioeconomy. The partnership seeks to foster international cooperation, align European and national research agendas, and empower stakeholders from diverse sectors to collaborate on Europe's forestry challenges.

The partnership has a duration of seven to ten years and aims to deliver solutions supporting climate neutrality, biodiversity, and bioeconomy objectives. It encourages active stakeholder engagement and citizen participation in co-design and co-creation of research agendas and outcomes. Proposals must consider FAIR data principles and cross-sectoral cooperation with existing European and global initiatives.
