Data Repository for Security Research and Innovation

This action addresses the need for a sustainable, secure, and interoperable data repository infrastructure to support security research and innovation in Europe. The lack of accessible, high-quality datasets often hampers the development of effective and validated security solutions. By establishing dedicated repositories, the project will ensure that valuable datasets generated by EU-funded research projects are preserved, curated, and made accessible for training, validation, and further research, while respecting ethical, legal, and security constraints.

Expected Outcome

A robust infrastructure supporting the continuity and sustainability of security research, improved access to high-quality datasets, and better reproducibility and validation of research results. Researchers, developers, and practitioners will benefit from faster development cycles, enhanced trust in research outcomes, and greater innovation potential through data-driven approaches.

Scope

Projects must design, implement, and manage repositories that allow secure storage and controlled access to diverse types of security-related data, including imagery, forensic data, cyber threat information, and social sciences datasets. They should ensure compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR) and address interoperability with existing European data spaces. Collaboration with standardization bodies and alignment with FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data principles is strongly encouraged.
