37th IraSME Call for Proposals: Türkiye

Description

This call is the 37th International Call for Proposals under the IraSME (International Research Activities by SMEs) network. It funds international research, development and innovation (R&D&I) projects involving Small and Medium‑Sized Enterprises (SMEs) from Turkey and other participating countries/regions. Projects are supported by national/regional funding programmes, including Germany’s ZIM (Zentrales Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand) and TÜBİTAK in Türkiye, to foster collaborative international innovation and competitiveness.

Funding Amount

  • Maximum project budget per project: up to €325,000 for the Turkish side.
  • Funding shares:
    • Research & Technology Organisations (RTOs): 100%
    • SMEs: up to 75%
    • Large companies: up to 60%
  • Project duration: up to 3 years.

Submission Deadlines

  • Call open: 1 December 2025

  • International application deadline: 25 March 2026.

Submission Conditions

  • Applicants must complete and submit the IraSME proposal form (available by e‑mail request to the network coordinator).
  • For German partners, submission to ZIM is via the Förderzentrale Deutschland (fully digital).
  • Optional non‑binding project outline submission is possible before full application to check eligibility.
  • Projects must adhere to national/regional funding rules of each participating country.

Eligible Types of Businesses

  • Small and Medium‑sized Enterprises (SMEs)
  • Research & Technology Organisations (RTOs), higher education institutions and similar research partners are recommended/eligible (especially for Turkish partners), typically funded at higher rates.
  • Large companies can also participate.
  • Foundations/associations/sole proprietorships may be included in consortia if essential but without direct funding from national programmes.

Eligible Countries (37th Call)

Participating countries/regions include:

  • Brazil
  • Germany
  • Czech Republic
  • Luxembourg
  • Türkiye
  • Belgium (Flanders and Wallonia)

Partners from non-participating countries may join but must self-finance their participation.

Expected Outcome

  • Development of market‑ready or near‑market innovations with clear commercial potential.
  • Added value through international cooperation, with meaningful contributions from each partner country/region represented in the consortium.
  • Results should enhance the global competitiveness of participating SMEs.

Scope

  • Open to international, transnational innovation projects aiming to develop new or significantly improved products, processes, or technology‑based services that go beyond the international state of the art.
  • Projects must include significant technical risk and R&D work packages and result in outputs at least at prototype level or equivalent.
  • Collaboration across at least two countries/regions participating in the call is required.
  • Cooperation between industry and academia is recommended, especially for Turkish partners.
