What and who is funded – Objective:
This funding guideline supports consortia based on successfully completed R&D projects from the German Civil Security Research Framework Program. The goal is to increase the practical impact and deployment readiness of innovative solutions. Eligible are projects that aim to enhance the reach, application, and usability of earlier results through additional R&D addressing new challenges identified during previous project implementation.

Applicants must include both a research organization and an implementation partner, with at least one active user (e.g., emergency services, municipalities, operators of critical infrastructure) involved as an associated partner. Only those partners from the original project necessary for the new research are to be included; additional users or transfer partners may be newly added. Validation under real-world conditions and iterative testing are expected.

Important Conditions:

• Projects must build on completed R&D projects funded by the Civil Security Program.

• Submission of proposals is only possible after successful completion of the “termination milestone” of the original project.

• Minimum one research partner and one implementation partner are required.

• At least one user must be actively involved (with a Letter of Intent).

• Projects typically run for 2 years (up to 3 years in justified cases).

• Results may only be used in the EU, EEA, or Switzerland.

• Applications may be submitted until December 31, 2029.
