Result description
One of the aims of the I-CHANGE project is to involve citizens in science activities and promote their active participation in the issues of climate change, sustainable development and environmental protection. For this reason, it has been developed an educational kit for schools „Zero Emission City“ inside which teachers and students can learn about the carbon footprint and the best behaviours to adopt to reduce carbon dioxide production, learning by playing a game. The aim is to carry out actions in a city that wants to become zero emission, by reducing as many kilos of carbon dioxide as possible.
Each action carried out produces carbon dioxide, but by taking various precautions it is possible to ensure that when these actions are repeated they will produce less pollution. The more teams step on the box, the closer the action gets to the zero-emission goal. To liven up the game, there are a couple of boxes on the board: Heat Islands and Intense Breezes, which represent some dynamics not foreseen in the classic round of the board. The winner is the team that offsets more carbon dioxide than the other teams.
