Result description
The installed new developed helicoidal GSHEs in the Test sites show a good performance and heat exchange properties. Handling of the PE-Xa/Al/PE pipe on the construction side is user-friendly and easy. Due to the high stability of the ground source heat exchanger pipes, the grouting process has no negative influence in displacing the pipe and its dimensions (pitch, diameter). The grouting itself has an influence on the surrounding thermal conductivities; especially the water content of the underground is an essential parameter.
The result of the development heat basket with the cold winding process without retaining bands and the material PE-Xa stabile has the best performence. This means it will be the best solution in production, material, installation and simulation. The new product has follow specifications: material PE-Xa stabile, external spiral diameters of 325 mm with pipe size 25 mm x 2.5 mm. The production of the product is much cheaper and faster to realize compared to the usual helix products. Savings of 20-30% have been identified here. Although higher material costs are due to the stable pipe, these can be saved again by not using additional support materials. For transport, the product can be compressed to a height of approx. 1m. On the construction site, the spiral can then be long dragging up to 15 m. This saves transport costs and increases flexibility at the construction site. Thus, the probe length can be precisely adjusted to the depth of the borehole by the variable winding.
