The result is a mature prototype (TRL 6) entering early market validation (CRL 3; IRL 2). Next steps aim to validate use with a small number of companies, refine usability and guidance, and offer the tool as a light service or product. Limited public or private funding and support from networks or partners is sought; no large-scale investment is planned.

The result supports a scalable business model, primarily through its digital nature and modular design. The toolkit can be reused across multiple companies with limited additional effort. Core functionalities and datasets can serve multiple users simultaneously, while only light, optional support is needed per client.

Scalability is further enabled by the ability to adapt the tool to new sectors and value chains by updating or adding datasets and indicators, rather than redeveloping the technology. The tool can also be adjusted to reflect new or evolving ESG requirements (e.g. CSRD, ESRS, TNFD) through incremental updates to guidance and indicators.

From an efficiency perspective, Draxis can scale by offering the toolkit as a standardised product complemented by optional paid services (e.g. assisted use, reporting support).

The BIOTRAILS ESG Biodiversity Toolkit is a digital, standardised tool that can be delivered to multiple users simultaneously with consistent functionality, methodology, and output quality. Once developed and hosted, the same version of the tool can be accessed by different companies, sectors, or regions without the need for custom development.

Replicability is supported by the use of a common methodological framework, harmonised indicators, and pre-populated datasets, which ensure that users receive the same type of results and guidance each time. The tool can be replicated across markets and value chains by reusing the core structure and adding or adapting datasets, rather than redesigning the system.

The result and the associated business model can be considered sustainable in the long term, in line with the sustainable business model definition.

It delivers value through a low-resource, digital solution that reduces the need for repeated bespoke analyses, thereby improving efficiency for users.

At the same time, the model contributes to maintaining and regenerating natural capital by encouraging biodiversity-aware practices, social value by improving transparency and accountability, and economic resilience by supporting long-term regulatory compliance.
