Result description
A proof-of-concept cement-based structural supercapacitor was developed using stacked cement-based electrodes. The result shows that construction materials can be adapted to provide both structural function and electrical energy storage, laying the groundwork for future smart infrastructure and other multifunctional built-environment applications.
Addressing target audiences and expressing needs
- Grants and Subsidies
- Use of research Infrastructure
- Collaboration
We are looking for public/translational funding, research collaborators, testing infrastructures, and construction/materials partners to validate, benchmark, scale and integrate this cement-based structural supercapacitor concept for future smart infrastructure applications.
- Public or private funding institutions
- Research and Technology Organisations
- Academia/ Universities
R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
This early R&D stage has a lab proof of concept, but further scale-up, testing, benchmarking, and validation are needed before commercial use. We seek follow-on funding, along with support from partners and collaborators, to validate and develop the concept for smart infrastructure.
