A system able to localise/track of moving electronic devices carried by the passengers in the form of life-jackets, bracelets or key cards through a network of smart smoke detectors acting as gateways and anchors of a localisation system. The localisation information is then transferred to the officer(s) in charge on the bridge through the available wired backbone network while a redundant wireless channel is enabled in case of a black-out incident. Wireless bracelets packed with motion sensors and heart rate sensors are able to transfer basic passenger motion and behaviour information during emergency through the smoke-detector backbone network. All localisation, behaviour, motion and emergency related information is directed to the central management support system which provides quick and accurate decision support to the ship’s command. Intelligent and adaptive decision support algorithms based on the industry’s standard evacuation procedures, fuse and process the vast amount of data received and enable accurate decision support. An automatic mustering system is also feeding the Decision support system with real time information of mustered people during evacuation.
