Result description
The pressure housing was successfully cycle-tested to a pressure of 600 bar in a pressure chamber. These tests certified its strength integrity in such high pressures occur in deep sea (6000m). Then the pressure housing with the complete LIBS system incorporated was successfully used in an ROV mission in the Pacific Ocean, up to 4000m depth. Finally, the pressure housing was monitored tested with various sensors in a pressure tank, in order to validate the Finite Element developed at the design stage. The results of theoretical (FEA) and experimental (pressure tests) were in very good correlation.
