Babel connector is an advanced real time communications manager built on J2EE that can be used with any platform and operating system. It enables communication with multiple elements within a facility, incorporating different standard protocols of communications used in the power industry domain. BABEL allows operability between different systems that belongs to an entirely Remote-Control Centre, using only one interface, even though these systems belong to different networks. The data acquisition done in the project has provide to Babel an improvement on the acquisition protocol for supporting a new set of signals and communication interface and an increase on the overall system performance.

– Customers digitalizing their business by i) Implementing new IoT/IIoT, Big Data and analytics systems by acquiring data from new or existing OT devices; ii) exploring the benefits of Distributed Edge Computing who need to provide data interfaces for the last mile pieces of equipment.

This result achieved a TRL-7 “system prototype demonstration in operational environment”. Next steps: the broad scale deployment of the integrated solution Babel / iSPEED / Node#1 in the offshore wind industry will require pilot projects where demonstrate their benefits.
